Legendary Bow

The legendary bow carried by Dremenus, Archangel of Water. He rarely needs to draw it more than once. With it he ended Azrath Voidborne the moment that mortal's knowledge had grown into a problem the equation refused to balance.

The Legendary Bow is the weapon of Dremenus, Archangel of Water and the Firstborn of the Archangels. It is, in keeping with its wielder, an instrument of patience. It is not flashy. It is not ceremonial. It is, in the careful celestial accounts, simply a bow — drawn rarely, drawn exactly when it should be drawn, and almost never drawn twice.

Its arrows do not always travel in lines a mortal eye can follow. They have been seen to bend around obstacles, to find targets the bowman had not, on first reading, appeared to be aiming at. They have been seen to reach across distances that no archer of any natural skill could cover. They are, by the long judgement of those who have stood beside Dremenus in his work, an extension of his attention. He sees a thing that should not exist. He determines that the equation has stopped balancing. The arrow goes to where the equation is wrong, and the equation is wrong no longer.

It was with this bow that Dremenus ended Azrath Voidborne, in the small unhurried visit that left the warlock's tea uncooled. It is the bow that, in the chronicle now beginning, has not yet been drawn against Drexel. The arrow is on the string. The Firstborn has not yet decided that the day has come.
